Myler Black Steel 7" Seven Shank, MB 43LP Narrow Low Ported Barrel, Level 2-3 The MB 43LP does not rotate on to the tongue, but instead sits solidly across the bars and lips of the horse’s mouth. The port is narrower than a Level 3 mouthpiece, but still offers room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. Because the port is narrow, when the reins are engaged, the horse will feel a slight pressure on the outside edges of the tongue — a gentle reminder rather than a strong reprimand. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ¼" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. It is the mildest of the Level 2-3 mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure, just one step below a Level 3 mouthpiece. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation. This stainless steel cheek features a unique no-pinch headstall ring. Excellent balance. Medium leverage (tight curb) to low leverage (loose curb). Excellent for later training, showing, pleasure and on through competition. The Greeley gag bit is 9 ¼” long which gives the rider leverage when needed. The limited travel of the cheek provides excellent shoulder lift as well as collection. This encourages the horse to stay on their hind end around the turn and to break at the poll. This is a great bit for a finished horse that needs to stay round and keep their shoulder up in the turn.

The CG bit is one of the first bits Carol Goosetree designed. She developed this bit especially for her champion mount -inch Dobre-inch, in the late seventies. The chain snaffle mouthpiece and short gag action makes this bit soft and forgiving in a horse's mouth. Horses tend to feel comfortable in this bit and show a lot of response without overreacting. It helps add control in the turns, and support and correct an overly bendy horse. The CGs weighted shanks add more feel and help encourage a proper headset.

The unique design of this bit offers direct contact similar to a ring snaffle with the shoulder elevation of a gag and the collection from a curb strap. This is a great training or transition bit. The gag movement allows the horse to give at the poll before the curb comes into effect. All of these bits should be adjusted to fit with one wrinkle in the horse's mouth and a loose curb strap to allow 2-3 fingers. This mouthpiece is often misrepresented, but is actually a very mild and useful training tool. The chain conforms to the shape of the horse's mouth, applying mild tongue and bar pressure. This mouthpiece works well on horses in any discipline.
