This shank will give more leverage while maintaining a soft feel. A step up from the short shank allowing the rider to move forward to the next level of training. All of these bits should be adjusted to fit with one wrinkle in the horse's mouth and a loose curb strap to allow 2-3 fingers. The Yukon has more purchase than a traditional shorter shanked bit. This encourages ideal break at the poll while the shorter shank allows the bit to be more forgiving and encourage lateral movement. The dog bone mouthpiece applies more pressure to the outside of the bars providing more flex and bend than a traditional two-piece snaffle.
