The 7-1/2-inch cheek style is next in the lineup. Extremely versatile, this bit can be used for training drills, pleasure riding, or competition. This cheek has a 2-1/2-inch purchase with a 5-inch shank. The shank is swept back, like the 6-inch model, but to a lesser degree, which offers more leverage and control. When properly adjusted, it is still considered a mild cheek, but one with plenty of leverage for control at increased speeds. The Low Port Barrel is a highly universal bit that works well for anything from training to pleasure riding to competition. In the Lifter bits there are two different shanks, each with four different mouthpieces. The medium measures 6" and the long measures 8". This gives the rider lots of different options to choose from. These bits are for all different types of horses, from the light horse that needs help on the back side or the hard runner that needs help shutting down for the turn. These bits are created to help you pick up your horses shoulder while going into turn and then helping them on the back side of the turn. The Yukon has more purchase than a traditional shorter shanked bit. This encourages ideal break at the poll while the shorter shank allows the bit to be more forgiving and encourage lateral movement. The dog bone mouthpiece applies more pressure to the outside of the bars providing more flex and bend than a traditional two-piece snaffle. This dog bone also has a roller in the middle, which is a great soothing tool for an anxious horse.

This bit gives you more flex and bend than the original lifter. I love the short shank for starting colts and the long shank for running the more solid horse. This mouthpiece offers similar benefits of the twisted wire snaffle with added flex and bend.
