Myler Flat Shank with Low Medium Wide Port MB 05 with Copper Roller, Level 3 The MB05 is one of the mildest Myler mouthpieces in terms of tongue pressure. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass under the bit. However, unlike the solid MB 33, the MB 05 collapses slightly although it does not fully rotate on to the tongue like a Level 1 or Level 2 mouthpiece. This gives the mouthpiece more give and may apply some light tongue pressure although it works primarily off the lips and bars. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ¼"" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 05 offers such a high degree of tongue relief, the horse that goes well in this mouthpiece has a trustworthy and consistent disposition, and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as the hands. Notes: For a slight increase in tongue pressure, see the MB 43LP. For similar tongue relief without Independent Side Movement, see the MB 12. The 7"" Flat Shank is stainless steel and curved slightly back towards the horse, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The Flat Shank has the patented Independent Swivel Cheek, where the purchase, mouthpiece and shank all move independently of each other. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to avoid rubbing. It has an indirect (curb) rein action designed to be used with a curb strap which attaches to the purchase. Professional's Choice PC Yukon Dogbone Rollers
The Yukon has more purchase than a traditional shorter shanked bit. This encourages ideal break at the poll while the shorter shank allows the bit to be more forgiving and encourage lateral movement. The dog bone mouthpiece applies more pressure to the outside of the bars providing more flex and bend than a traditional two-piece snaffle. This dog bone also has coper rollers in the middle, which is a great soothing tool for an anxious horse.
