I love this medium twist and ride it on just about everything. It is a great size; not too harsh, but just enough bite if you need it. Brittany PozziNOTE: This bit will rust when exposed to moisture. This creates a sweet taste in the horses mouth and promotes salivation. In the Lifter bits there are two different shanks, each with four different mouthpieces. The medium measures 6" and the long measures 8". This gives the rider lots of different options to choose from. These bits are for all different types of horses, from the light horse that needs help on the back side or the hard runner that needs help shutting down for the turn. These bits are created to help you pick up your horses shoulder while going into turn and then helping them on the back side of the turn. The lifter also gives good elevation of your horses front end while engaging the hind quarter for the turn. The Laramie has a swept back cheek and a tear drop loop at the rein, which provides a very forgiving and slower pull. The shank’s features give a pre-signal for the horse when they feel the rein slide. This keeps the rider from having to engage as directly. The Greeley gag bit is 9 ¼” long which gives the rider leverage when needed. The limited travel of the cheek provides excellent shoulder lift as well as collection. This encourages the horse to stay on their hind end around the turn and to break at the poll. This is a great bit for a finished horse that needs to stay round and keep their shoulder up in the turn.
