The shape and gag of the shank also promote lifting the horse’s shoulders and the ability to cue the horse with a delayed reaction without slowing the horse’s feet down during competition. The 480 is ideal for a stronger horse that needs the added bite of a twisted wire and the roundness of the dogbone mouthpiece. The sweet iron mouthpiece is designed to rust naturally and imparts a sweet taste to the horse.
