The Yukon has more purchase than a traditional shorter shanked bit. This encourages ideal break at the poll while the shorter shank allows the bit to be more forgiving and encourage lateral movement. The dog bone mouthpiece applies more pressure to the outside of the bars providing more flex and bend than a traditional two-piece snaffle. This dog bone also has coper rollers in the middle, which is a great soothing tool for an anxious horse.

The shank’s features give a pre-signal for the horse when they feel the rein slide. This keeps the rider from having to engage as directly. The two-piece twisted wire mouthpiece is a little more aggressive than a smooth mouthpiece, which lends more response and respect from the horse.

The Combination Bit is a great transition from the O-Ring. It uses the rope nose and gag to simultaneously ask the horse to break at the poll and give the rider more leverage. Brittany likes to use this bit for training, tuning, and competing. The chain mouthpiece is very forgiving while also being slower to engage and to release. It is a great for novice hands or a sensitive horse.
