The 7 Shank has quite a bit of weight behind the mouthpiece, which allows a quick release from the rider’s hands.  This is an excellent transition bit out of an O-ring or D-ring.  The square port is more aggressive than the traditional rounded port because you are working off the corners of the mouth.  The twisted bar pieces are more aggressive.

We added length to the shanks for the added control needed for colts or serious competition. Notice how well the nose floats as you pull the shanks to keep the nose riding in proper position but will not drop down to cut off the horses wind. Shanks are designed to swivel for excellent flex. Rope nose is for better control. Stainless steel resists rust.

This shank will give more leverage while maintaining a soft feel. A step up from the short shank allowing the rider to move forward to the next level of training. All of these bits should be adjusted to fit with one wrinkle in the horse's mouth and a loose curb strap to allow 2-3 fingers. This mouthpiece will provide the horse with some tongue relief and the chain is light on the bars.
