The 7 Shank is has quite a bit of weight behind the mouthpiece, which allows a quick release from the rider’s hands. This is an excellent transition bit out of an O-ring or D-ring. The wide ported chain mouthpiece is a step up from a traditional ported chain bit. It does not have quite as much tongue relief and is a little more aggressive on the tongue and the pallet. The 7 Shank has quite a bit of weight behind the mouthpiece, which allows a quick release from the rider’s hands. This is an excellent transition bit out of an O-ring or D-ring. The square port is more aggressive than the traditional rounded port because you are working off the corners of the mouth. The twisted bar pieces are more aggressive.

This is my favorite bit in my collection. I have ridden two different horses to world titles using this hackamore. "The hackamore is great for a horse that just needs some guiding around the turn or one that does not like a bit in its mouth. The side pull action on the shank makes it easy for your horse to work without getting in its way and gives you a small amount of lift. The o-ring is a great bit to start colts in and show them the basics of barrel racing. The twisted wire gives you good control and makes it easier to direct a young horse.
